CONTRERAS GUITARS AT SAVINO MUSIC

Since 1959, Manuel Contreras has been recognized as one of the most innovative guitar makers in the industry. As a craftsman, he opened up the voice of the classical guitar in an effort to bring it centerstage in classical performance. Until then, the guitar was overlooked in favor of more popular instruments, barely respected enough to qualify as "classical". His purpose was certain: he was to put a more voluminous guitar in the hands of players, giving them the clarity that was then reserved only for the piano and violin.

The professional guitar world loved it, and thus the "Double Top"model was born.  The design of the sounding back support outlined the guitar's response in performances, giving these instruments a generous reputation of sound and tone.
